A Harrow singer and song-writer touches and inspires her audience with her powerful lyrics and unique voice.
Eva Campbell, 29, started singing in a school choir when she was at school in Austria. At ten years old she started playing the piano. She was the youngest pupil to be accepted into the University for Music and Performing Arts in Graz. She studied jazz singing under Mark Murphy, Andy Bey and Jay Clayton.
Eva, from Glenwood Close moved to London in 1995 where she completed a post-graduate diploma in jazz and studio music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Eva has worked extensively as a featured soloist and with supporting musicians. She has performed in concert at the Barbican and a variety of leading clubs and hotels in London.
In addition she has co-written the lyrics for a title of a track of the movie One Love which stars Bob Marley’s son Ky-mani Marley, which is released in May this year.
She is also working on her first solo album entitled Shamelessly Expressed. The title means that you should not feel ashamed to express yourself. Eva said: “I know many people that can sing and they just need to be encouraged to take the next step.”
Eva’s rise and success has come from her Dream Team. Eva never wanted a manager, she wanted certain people to help her dream come true.
The Dream Team consists of eight talented individuals, none, of whom had previously worked in music but they all have a love for music. She recently completed her first project of a solo concert that was held at Camden last month.
Eva also teaches singing on a one to one basis.
Eva said: “My main aim is to use my skills of either performing songs or teaching songs to inspire people.”
“I feel really moved when ever anyone comes up to me and thanks me for my performance as it has touched them in a certain way.”
