A Harrow singer and song-writer touches and inspires her audience with her powerful lyrics and unique voice.

Eva Campbell, 29, started singing in a school choir when she was at school in Austria. At ten years old she started playing the piano. She was the youngest pupil to be accepted into the University for Music and Performing Arts in Graz. She studied jazz singing under Mark Murphy, Andy Bey and Jay Clayton.

DARK VOICE WITH ENORMOUS RANGE

BRUCK, AUSTRIA. Eva Campbell-Haidl at the Forstschule performed a rocky-souly-jazzy concert yesterday.

Born in Bruck, the artist now lives in London and the audience could see for themselves that the talented singer truly polished her abilities over the last few years.
That a singer has a voice, is being taken for granted. But rarely does anybody master such an enormous musical range like Campbell showed last night. Sting’s rocky “Every breath you take” was as brilliant as Gershwin’s classic “Summertime” in a reggae version. As well as being totally at home in jazz, black soul seems to suit her dark sounding voice down to the ground too.
